MCPins Fabric Mod
The MCPins Fabric mod allows you to quickly add pins to your MCPins mapsfrom within Minecraft using our /pin command. The mod does not add pin indicators, items or blocks inside Minecraft. It simply adds pins to your MCPins maps.
Requirements
- Minecraft Java edition (1.21 or higher)
Installation
- Download and run the Fabric Loader installer at https://fabricmc.net/
- From the Client tab in the installer, select your minecraft version, then click install.
- From CurseForge (scary name for a cool website), download and install the Fabric API matching your version of Minecraft. So if you're running Minecraft 1.21.4, look for the Fabric API filename ending with the same version number.
- Place the MCPins mod (mcpins-1.x.x.jar) and the Fabric API (fabric-api-x.x.x.jar) in your .minecraft/mods folder.
- Now inside the Minecraft launcher, your installations menu should include the Fabric loader for your version. Select it and click 'Play'
Getting Started
- First, you'll need to link your Minecraft identity to your MCPins account.
- Then, link the Fabric mod to your MCPins account by going to your account. In the Fabric Mod section, click "Create a Link Code". This will give you a 5-digit code to copy.
- Login to Minecraft and type /link [your-code].
- Next, type /maps to see a list of your MCPins maps. Click the name of the map in which you'd like to create pins. Anytime you want to place pins in a different map, you can type /maps again to select another map. If the seed of the world your currently in matches the seed of your MCPins map, it will automatically select the correct map. In this case, if you still want to select a different map, you can type /maps list.
- Finally, to add a pin on your selected map at your current location, type /pin [pin name] If your pin name has spaces, wrap it in quotes.
- View and edit your pins in the MCPins here in the web app.
If you use Minecraft on multiple computers, you'll need to use the /link command on each computer. Each code must be unique.
Potential Conflicts
MCPins adds three new commands to Minecraft: /pin, /maps, and /link. If you have other mods or plugins with the same command names, you may need to disable them.
Troubleshooting
If you are having issues with the MCPins Fabric mod:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the MCPins Fabric mod. Download it here.
- Make sure you have the correct version of the Fabric API from here. This version should match your version of Minecraft and should be 1.21.1 or higher.
- Your mods folder should include .jar files for both the MCPins mod and the Fabric API.
- Your mods folder should only have one version of the Fabric API at a time. If you have multiple, rename the unused APIs (.jar files) to include a .disabled extension.
