What are the system requirements for using MCPins?

MCPins is a web-based application, so you only need a modern web browser and an internet connection to use it. Most reasonably modern computers can handle thousands of pins per map.

What's the quickest and easiest way to add pins?

Is my email address available to other users?

No. Your email address is only visible to you and MCPins staff. We do not share your email address with anyone. The only exception is when you use our 'Invite a Friend' feature, your email will be included in the invitation so your friend will know who invited them.

Can I share maps with friends?

If you've verified your Minecraft account, Yes! You can share maps with friends by clicking the share button on the map page. Both you and your friend will need to link your Minecraft account to share maps.

Once I link my Minecraft account, can I change it?

Not currently. We may allow this in the future, but currently, once you link an account it may not be changed.

Can other players see my MCPins maps?

Not unless you share it with them. The only maps that are visible to other users are the ones you explicitly share with them. There's no public list of maps.

What is required to share maps?

To share maps with a friend, both you and your friend must verify your Minecraft accounts.

If I change plans, will my previous plan be cancelled?

Yes. We will cancel your current plan and put you on the new plan immediately. We do not prorate any overlap in the timing of the two plans, so no refund can be given on the remaining period of your previous plan. If you have a Gold plan and you downgrade to Iron, your plan will remain Gold until its expiration date, then you'll be downgraded to Iron.

How does Minecraft account linking work? And what is Wize?

Verification is a way to link your MCPins account to your Minecraft account. Verifying your Minecraft account allows you to share MCPins maps with friends, hide your email address and appear to your friends as your Minecraft identity. We use our server at Wize to verify your account. Wize is owned and operated by the same people who own MCPins. One word of caution: when you go verify your account at Wize you might find yourself pulled into a fun game of Capture the Flag!

Is there a limit to the number of pins I can add to a map

The total number of pins you can add is subject to the plan you have, but there is no limit to the number of pins you can add to a map. However, as the number of pins approaches around 3,000 pins, things may get sluggish. We have some performance optimizations on the way to further improve this.

Will we have icons for pin types?

Icons are in development! Soon we'll have a way to opt-in to using the beta icons as they become available.

What is the status of Biome view?

Biome view is in the early phases of development and we don't have an ETA for release.
